Frequently Asked Questions
How do I prepare for my spray tan?
Follow these steps for the best results:
- Exfoliate with a mitt 24 hours before to remove dead skin cells for an even tan.
- Avoid moisturisers, perfumes, deodorants, or oils on the day of your appointment.
- Wear loose, dark clothing to prevent rubbing after your session.
- Shave or wax at least 24 hours before tanning to avoid irritation.
What should I wear during my spray tan?
You can wear whatever you feel comfortable in—disposable underwear (provided), a bikini, or go nude for no tan lines.
Can I wear makeup to my appointment?
It’s best to arrive with clean, product-free skin (no makeup, lotions, or deodorant).
How long should I wait before showering?
Depending on which product you were sprayed in
- Express Tan: 1–4 hours (depending on which tan you opted for) Water rinse only (Day after you can shower with your body wash)
- Ultra-Dark Tan: At least 8 hours (overnight is ideal) Shower normally with body wash in the morning or after the 8 hour mark.
Will my tan stain my clothes or sheets?
Some bronzer transfer is normal before your first shower. Wear loose, dark clothing and use dark sheets if sleeping in it.
How can I make my tan last longer?
- Moisturise at least twice daily to keep skin hydrated.
- Avoid long hot showers, saunas, and pools (chlorine fades tans faster).
- Pat skin dry with a soft towel instead of rubbing after showering.
Use our Tan Xtend product after day 3 of your tan to extend the life of your tan - this is particularly great to take on holiday.
How long will my tan last?
Typically 7–10 days with proper care. Lighter tans fade faster, while darker tans can last longer.
Is spray tanning safe?
Yes! Our tanning solutions are vegan, cruelty-free, and made with natural ingredients to nourish your skin.
Can I get a spray tan if I’m pregnant or breastfeeding?
Yes! Our tanning solutions are pregnancy-safe. However, we recommend consulting with your doctor with any concerns first, doing a patch test if you have sensitive skin is recommended, if you are breastfeeding we can avoid this area, or put you in our rapid 30 min-1hour tan
Will my tan look orange?
No! I customise each tan to your skin tone, ensuring a natural, sun-kissed glow—never orange and follow the recommended rinse off time.. longer doesn’t = Darker, It possibly could over develop and look unpleasant.
How often can I get a spray tan?
You can tan every 7–10 days if you properly exfoliate before each session.
When can I workout after my tan?
You can start working out the next day, but remember if you’re sweating and wearing tight activewear this can effect the longevity of your tan.
Can I get a tan after laser hair removal?
You must follow instructions from your Laser therapist, but usually you will need to wait at least 4-5 days before Tanning
Why Wait?
- Skin Sensitivity – Laser hair removal makes the skin more sensitive and prone to irritation. Applying a spray tan too soon can cause discomfort, redness, or uneven absorption.
- Open Hair Follicles – The laser opens the hair follicles, which can make the skin absorb the tanning solution unevenly, leading to patchy results.
- Risk of Irritation – The DHA in spray tan solutions may react with laser-treated skin, causing itching or blotchiness and sensitivity
How many days before my event should I get a tan?
The ideal time is 2 day prior, this gives you enough time to wash all the bronzers off and for the tan to settle into the skin for the most natural looking tan. If you are going on holiday I recommend getting a tan the day before you leave.
